Week 3 Shockers
Tottenham’s attacking alarm bells
Three games, zero goals.
Tottenham’s 0–0 draw at Nottingham Forest gave them their first point of the season, but failing to register a shot on target made the result feel more like a warning than a recovery.
Bournemouth’s unwanted record
Bournemouth are proving they can score first — but not finish games. They became the first Premier League side to score first in each of their opening three games of a season without winning any of them. Their 2–2 draw at Newcastle also meant they had dropped seven points from winning positions.
Fulham’s defensive problems
Fulham led twice against Crystal Palace but still lost 3–2. Three games, three defeats — a worrying beginning for Álvaro Arbeloa's side.
Arsenal keep their perfect start
Arsenal came from behind to beat Chelsea 2–1, keeping their 100% record intact and showing the resilience of defending champions.
Player of the Week: Alexander Isak
Alexander Isak gets my Player of the Week award.
The Liverpool striker scored twice in just nine minutes during the 2–0 win at Ipswich. Even more impressive, both goals were assisted by Cody Gakpo.
Isak now has three Premier League goals in three games, while Gakpo's two assists highlighted a partnership that could become a major FPL storyline.
The Premier League's official Team of the Week also selected Isak after his brace.
FPL Gameweek 4 Predictions
Gameweek 4 brings some tasty fixtures, and FPL managers should be looking beyond the obvious names.
🔥 Captain: Erling Haaland
Manchester City travel to Manchester United for the first Manchester derby of the season.
Despite the difficult fixture, Haaland remains a captaincy option because of his goal threat and current form. He is already among the league's leading scorers with three goals.
⭐ Differential: Cody Gakpo
Two assists against Ipswich make Gakpo one of the most interesting Liverpool picks heading into their home game against Fulham.
With Isak converting his chances, Gakpo could become a serious FPL points source.
💰 Value Pick: Maxim De Cuyper
Brighton's attacking full-back remains an interesting budget option. His willingness to get forward gives him a route to points beyond clean sheets.
👀 Watchlist: Alexander Isak
If you don't already own Isak, the time may be coming. Liverpool host Fulham in Gameweek 4, and his current form makes him difficult to ignore.
⚠️ Fixture to Watch: Manchester United vs Manchester City
This is the big one.
United have already shown attacking potential, while City have won all three of their opening games. Haaland, Bruno Fernandes and the City attacking options could make this one of the most important FPL fixtures of the week.
What to Expect in Gameweek 4?
Liverpool will look to build momentum against Fulham, Arsenal travel to Sunderland, Chelsea host Hull City, while Manchester United face Manchester City in the headline fixture.
For FPL managers, don't chase last week's points blindly. Isak and Gakpo deserve attention, Haaland remains the premium captaincy option, and the Manchester derby could decide plenty of mini-leagues.
One thing is already clear: the 2026/27 Premier League season is wide open — and the FPL battle is getting just as interesting.
