The Premier League has barely completed five Matchweeks, and already the script has been torn apart!
Gameweek 5 delivered a huge shock, another Manchester City goal-fest, Chelsea's defensive problems, Liverpool grinding out another win and a reminder that this season could be anything but predictable.
EPL Week 5 Results
The biggest story came at the Amex, where Brighton stunned Arsenal 3-0. Pascal Groß opened the scoring before Charalampos Kostoulas and Chema Andrés completed a memorable victory.
For Arsenal, it was a reality check after their perfect start.
Manchester City, however, remain perfect. They survived a crazy 5-3 thriller against Sunderland, with Antoine Semenyo scoring twice and Erling Haaland adding the late goal that sealed City's fifth league victory.
And Sunderland still had plenty to celebrate. Brian Brobbey scored a hat-trick, becoming the first Sunderland player to score a Premier League hat-trick since Jermain Defoe in 2016.
Elsewhere, Brentford put Chelsea to the sword with a 3-0 win, while Aston Villa defeated Tottenham 3-2.
Liverpool picked up another important three points, beating Bournemouth 1-0 through Alexander Isak, while Manchester United rescued a point at Fulham with Matheus Cunha's late equaliser.
Leeds and Crystal Palace played out a goalless draw, Everton beat Ipswich 1-0, Newcastle edged Hull City 2-1 and Coventry produced another surprise by beating Nottingham Forest 1-0.
Player of the Week: Brian Brobbey
For me, this one is hard to look past.
Brian Brobbey is my EPL Week 5 Player of the Week.
Scoring a hat-trick against Manchester City is impressive enough. Doing it at the Etihad while your team eventually loses 5-3 makes it even more unusual.
Brobbey scored three times in less than an hour and constantly caused problems for the City defence.
The fans agreed too. Brobbey received 33% of the official Premier League Player of the Matchweek vote, ahead of Brighton's Pascal Groß on 22%.
Sometimes the best individual performance doesn't come from the winning team.
This was one of those weekends.
What Can We Expect From The Next Few Weeks?
The first major pause of the season has arrived, with the Premier League heading into an extended international break.
The league returns on 10 October, with defending champions Arsenal hosting unbeaten Leeds United in the opening fixture.
And that is where things get really interesting.
Manchester City: Can Anyone Stop Them?
Five wins from five puts City at the top with a perfect record.
The attack is producing goals, Haaland is scoring and Semenyo has quickly become an important attacking weapon.
But the 5-3 win over Sunderland also showed that City's defence can be tested.
Arsenal: Reaction Time
The 3-0 defeat at Brighton was Arsenal's first league loss of the campaign.
The big question isn't whether they can lose games — every team can.
It's how they respond.
Their first match after the break against Leeds suddenly becomes a very interesting test.
Liverpool: Quietly Moving Up
Liverpool haven't always looked spectacular, but the points are coming.
Another 1-0 victory against Bournemouth moved them to sixth, and Alexander Isak has already started making his mark.
Could Liverpool become the team that quietly climbs the table while everyone else takes the headlines?
Brighton: The Team Everyone Is Watching
After scoring five against Coventry in Week 4, Brighton followed it up by beating Arsenal 3-0.
That's not a coincidence anymore.
Brighton are scoring goals, pressing aggressively and now have a huge statement victory to their name. Their next few fixtures will tell us whether this is simply a brilliant start or something bigger.
Five Weeks Down. The Real Race Starts Now.
Five Matchweeks have given us plenty of clues — but absolutely no final answers.
Manchester City are perfect. Arsenal have already tasted defeat. Brighton are flying. Liverpool are building momentum. Chelsea have questions to answer. Manchester United are searching for consistency.
And then there is the rest of the league, ready to cause another upset.
The international break may slow things down for a few weeks.
But when the Premier League returns, expect the chaos to continue.
Because this season is only getting started.
