About Us

More Than Just The Score.

Sport is not just about winning and losing. It is about the stories behind every victory, the struggles behind every comeback, the strategies that shape a contest and the people who make sport special.

What's The Score (WTS) is an independent digital sports publication built around this belief.

Our aim is to bring sports enthusiasts closer to the game through meaningful sports journalism, insightful analysis, exclusive stories and perspectives that go beyond the final scoreline.

Who We Are

Founded by Sandeep Tewary and Arpan Ghosh, What's The Score is driven by two sports enthusiasts who believe that every sport, athlete and sporting journey has a story worth telling.

Both founders serve as the Chief Editors of the publication and oversee its editorial direction, content quality and publishing standards.

We are passionate about covering sport not just as spectators, but as people who appreciate its technical, tactical, emotional and human dimensions.

What We Cover

Our coverage extends across the sporting world, with a particular focus on:

  • Cricket: International cricket, domestic competitions, T20 leagues, match analysis, player performances and emerging talent.
  • Football: Domestic and international football, major leagues, tournaments, tactical analysis and player stories.
  • Hockey: International competitions, Indian hockey, grassroots development and the journeys of emerging players.
  • Other Sports: Tennis, motorsport, kabaddi, Olympics and other sporting disciplines that deserve greater attention.
  • Sports Stories: Personal journeys, interviews, grassroots sporting communities, corporate cricket and the human experiences behind sporting achievements.

Beyond The Scoreboard

One of our biggest editorial interests is telling stories that often remain outside mainstream sports coverage.

From corporate cricket and emerging athletes to individuals who have overcome personal and professional challenges, we want to provide a platform for sporting journeys that deserve recognition.

We believe that every athlete has a story, irrespective of the level at which they compete.

Our Editorial Approach

We believe sports journalism should be informative, engaging, original and responsible.

Our editorial approach is built around the following principles:

  • Originality: We aim to provide original analysis, perspectives, interviews and storytelling rather than simply reproduce information available elsewhere.
  • Accuracy: We make efforts to verify facts, statistics, match information and quotations using reliable sources, including official sporting bodies and credible news organisations.
  • Editorial Responsibility: Every published article is subject to human editorial review. Our editors are responsible for the accuracy, relevance and overall quality of the content.
  • Transparency: When reporting relies on information from another publication or source, we aim to provide appropriate attribution.
  • Continuous Improvement: We welcome reader feedback and take corrections seriously. Material errors brought to our attention are reviewed and corrected where necessary.

Our Use of Technology and AI

We recognise that technology can support modern digital journalism.

AI-assisted tools may be used during research organisation, initial drafting, language refinement and content preparation.

However, technology does not replace editorial responsibility. Our human editors review published content, assess its accuracy, refine its presentation and ensure that it provides meaningful value to readers.

We do not consider automated content production a substitute for original reporting, analysis or genuine storytelling.
